There's only one thing "scary" about this Halloween craft…
You could accidentally dye your hands tangerine! Happily that would be perfect for the holiday.
This is a really easy craft and it's also a fantastic stash buster.
Supplies: Rit Dye in Tangerine, Tags (mine are from Office Max), Twine (mine is from The Twinery), and random embellishments– rubber stamps, buttons, ink, ribbon. Anything you are inspired to use. Also grab something to mix the dye in, some old salad tongs and a cookie sheet lined with paper towels. If you happen to have some old rubber gloves– they are a good idea too.
Remove the twine
You could use a bucket to make the dye in. I used a large vase.
Add water. The less water, the more intense the color.
Dip the tags in one by one with the tongs. If you do too many at the same time they can stick together, leaving some areas with any dye.
Place them on a cookie sheet lined with paper towels to dry.
When dry (about an hour and a half) stamp and embellish to you heart's content. I also added the cute orange and white twine.
There are so many uses for these fun tags– candy bags, packaging classroom treats or just as a cute little something to decorate a loaf of homemade pumpkin bread.
Linking up to these parties. Do you have something artistic, crafty, organizational or tasty to share? My co-hostess Katie and I would love for you to join us at "A Crafty Soiree" party, every Thursday at both our blogs. Last week's linky list us still open.

Really, really cute! I love the little house stamps and the web stamp. But the orange color just makes these tags. I’m going to try something like this!

Oh so fun!!! I’ve been wanting to coffee or tea stain some tags but this would be fun too! I love how yours came out, what brand of stamps did you use. They look oddly familiar, like I had them in my hand once and didn’t end up buying them. But now I can’t remember where I might have seen them. Does that tell you I shop too much or WHAT?!
BTW: We got the cutest little package in the mail on Saturday! ER is in LOVE, the took her little bag to school with her in her backpack. I told her she didn’t need it, but she informed me the USE CHALK at school so she might need some. Capitalization in an effort to convey the atittude in which I was informed, LOL!

Those tags turned out really nice! I definitely need to do this for Christmas. I’ve only recently started to get into crafts. My first project is to complete a scrapbook.

I love how the die makes them look like vintage tags. Something you wouldn’t get if you just used orange card-stock (which was my first thought for my lazy take on this project). Love these.
Erin says
I didn’t even you know you could use Rit on paper! Those are awesome!
