Hello… I have a treat for you. Some creative ideas on improving you decor from Design Shuffle!

Guest Postage

Hi, I'm Susi and I am a writer at Design Shuffle, a community for interior designers, home decorators and other design professionals to showcase their design projects find inspiration and meet other design enthusiasts.

I'm excited to be visiting Yesterday on Tuesday this week to share ideas about thrifty ways to give rooms a face lift. Seems like we're all living on budgets these days, but that doesn't mean we can't continue to find great interior design ideas and redecorate our homes. There are so many clever and thrifty DIY projects online. I hope these inspire you to give your rooms a face lift without breaking, or even denting, the budget.

One of the current popular trends in decorating is also a great, inexpensive DIY friendly trend: stencils. Use stencils and paint to makeover a wall, floor, rug or fabrics. The results are incredible.

Paint is the ultimate thrifty transformer. Paint thrift store furniture and lighting finds to give them a fresh look. Paint existing furniture, including cabinets and vanities, to transform them into something new.

Transform a standard white drum shade into something uniquely chic. Use stencils and paint, fabric, ribbons, or cording to change the look in an afternoon.

Looking for new inexpensive decorating ideas for living rooms or dining rooms? Change out your light fixture by making your own pendant light! No, seriously, this charming vintage inspired string pendant is a clever DIY project. Looks great!

We all probably have Mason jars and glass vases in our cupboards. Transform them with paint to create colored vases to hold seasonal flowers.

Create a colorful gallery wall. A can or two of spray paint, inexpensive frames (Ikea has great ones,) enlarged family photos and voila!

Buying new bed linens can be an expensive endeavor. If new linens aren't in the budget, shop your own linen closet and remake your bed with a mix of patterns and colors. Pull accent pillows from the living room or make some from cloth napkins. All great decorating ideas!

Tea towels are a great, thrifty way to give a kitchen or powder room a face lift. You can also customize your linens with stencils, iron-on transfers, and trim to make them feel new. Want more decorating ideas? Come visit Design Shuffle where you can network with interior designers and design enthusiasts to get the latest on interior designs!

Thanks for the great ideas, Susi and Design Shuffle.
