Celebrate Valentine’s Day, a birthday or any special occasion with an easy to assemble Sweets Table!

Valentine's Day Sweets Table

DIY Candy Sign

Point the way to goodies with an easy to make candy sign.

Supplies: wooden arrow (ours is from Sierra Pacific Crafts), acrylic paint, sheet of black vinyl or black vinyl “CANDY” letters, self-adhesive rhinestones. All supplies available at Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames in Redmond.

Directions

1. Paint the arrow sign (it may take a few coats to achieve desired color) and let it dry.

2.Either purchase “CANDY” vinyl letters or buy a single sheet of black vinyl at Ben Franklin and use the die cut machine (for free) to cut out 3″ letters.

3. To apply vinyl letters, place it on a flat, hard surface and burnish the top with a credit card. Flip it over and peel off the backing at a sharp angle. Position vinyl face up on your surface. Burnish vinyl to surface. Remove masking tape on top of letters at a sharp angle. OR if you used the die cut machine to cut the letters out, simply burnish the front of the letters, remove the back and place the letter on your surface. Then gently burnish the top of the letter with a credit card.

4. Add peel and stick rhinestones to the border.

Cute Candy Jars

Jazz up glass jars with stickers or vinyl letters.

Supplies: heart stickers, a shiny adhesive piece of paper, vinyl letters (our are from Decorating Your Life). All supplies available at Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames in Redmond.

Directions L-R

1. To make the Heart Jar, simply add heart stickers!

2. For the vinyl “XO” Jar, apply vinyl. To apply vinyl letters, place it on a flat, hard surface and burnish the top with a credit card. Flip it over and peel off the backing at a sharp angle. Position vinyl face up on your surface. Burnish vinyl to surface. Remove masking tape on top of letters at a sharp angle. OR if you used the die cut machine to cut the letters out, simply burnish the front of the letters, remove the back and place the letter on your surface. Then gently burnish the top of the letter with a credit card.

3. To make the red heart and purple lips jars, buy a piece of shiny self-adhesive paper (then you can use the die cut center for free). Use the heart and lips die cuts to create the shapes. Another option: Use cookie cutters at home to make the shapes.  

4. Add Skittles and Sixlets!

Heart Place Mats or Table Runner

Make your table festive with these No-Sew Valentine’s Day Place Mats. Either use individually or together to form a an easy table runner. 

Supplies: One large red “stiff” precut felt (ours is from Darice),  1 piece each of white and polka dot felt to make felt hearts, heart ribbon and hot glue. All supplies available at Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames in Redmond.

Directions

1. Make felt hearts by buying felt and using the die cut center for free OR use cookie cutters to trace heart shapes.

2.Use hot glue to attach hearts to “Placemat.”

3. Using hot glue again, embellish with heart ribbon at the top and bottom. To create a table runner, make two or three placemats and position them together.

When you’re thinking about what to display the candy in, get creative! Drinking glasses are an inexpensive and unexpected choice.

Supplies: Four drinking glasses and vinyl “LOVE” (ours is from Decorating Your Life.) All supplies available at Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames in Redmond.

Directions

1. Cut LOVE letters apart.

2. To apply a vinyl letter on each glasses, place it on a flat, hard surface and burnish the top with a credit card. Flip it over and peel off the backing at a sharp angle. Position vinyl face up on your surface. Burnish vinyl to surface. Remove masking tape on top of letters at a sharp angle. OR if you used the die cut machine to cut the letters out, simply burnish the front of the letters, remove the back and place the letter on your surface. Then gently burnish the top of the letter with a credit card.

3. Add colorful candy (we used gum balls and small chocolate balls by Sixlets).

Heart Party Favors

Make a sweet take away for party guests.

Supplies: Small heart bottles, heart stickers and heart candy (ours is from Wilton). All supplies available at Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames in Redmond.

Directions: Just add candy and apply heart to front of bottle.

Valentine’s Day Cookies

Make some treats with cookie cutters and fancy sugar.

Supplies: Cookie cutters (ours are from Sierra Pacific Crafts) and colorful sugar (ours is from Wilton). All supplies available at Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames in Redmond.

Directions
Make sugar cookies, cut them out with cookie cutters  and add colorful sugar to give cookies a “Valentine’s Day” touch.

Homemade Candy
 
Show your Valentine that “you’re sweet” on them by making homemade candy!
 
Supplies: Candy Mold and Candy Melts (ours are both from Wilton). A microwave safe bowl or disposable decorating bag. All supplies available at Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames in Redmond.
 
Directions: Following package instructions, melt the candy. Add the melted candy to the mold until it’s level.  Gently tap mold to remove air bubbles. Pop in fridge until bottom of mold appears frosty or candy looks firm. Turn mold over on a flat surface and gently twist to release candy.

Embellish small bags or takeout food boxes with Washi Tape (ours is from Our Mind’s Eye) for guests to package up their goodies. All supplies available at Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames in Redmond.

Welcome guests to your home (or your Valentine’s Day Party) with dazzling Heart Wreath. All supplies available at Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames in Redmond.

Supplies: heart wreath (ours is from Darice) and ribbon.

Directions: Add a lovely ribbon to the heart wreath. Either create bow at home or the staff at Ben Franklin can create one for you for a small fee.
