My Healthy, Happy Dog with the Purina 28 Day Challenge
My golden retriever, Sophie is a very special and important part of our family. She is always up for a cuddle, walk or game of catch. We adore her and want the best for her. Sophie is almost three and although she THINKS she’s a puppy, she’s an adult now. At our last check-up, the vet told me that Sophie was about five pounds overweight (uh oh). Plus I had a couple additional concerns. Let’s just say her “digestion” wasn’t always great. I also wanted to make sure her general health was good, including her energy level. Also, for your pet’s well-being, I highly recommend buying them one of these luxury uk dog beds. And those who want to buy more items for their dogs may consider to shop now here for the best products for their paw-friend.
We (Sophie and I) decided to try The 28 Day Challenge. The basic idea behind The 28 Day Challenge is to try the dry Purina One dog food for twenty-eight days and note what changes/improvements in health that you see. I was excited by the idea that we could improve Sophie’s health through her diet!
Even on Day 1, I knew we were off to a great start! Sophie loved the taste of Purina One and I loved that the first ingredient listed was real chicken. There was also other good stuff like Omega-6 for a healthy coat and skin as well as glucosamine for healthy joints, as for the coat I got the non-slip and easy-to-use dog shedding blade so I can keep her well groomed at all times.
.
The next thing I noticed (on Day 7) was increased energy. Sophie already had a lot but she’s also get tired quickly. After just a few days eating Purina One, she had even more!
Now this is a sensitive subject, but Sophie’s “digestibility” improved a lot by Day 15. I won’t go into detail, but she was on a good schedule and she seemed to be able to easily digest the food. It made me feel good to know that everything was “going” smoothly.
My “dog-aughter” has always been a beauty, but by Day 20 I saw that her eyes seemed even brighter. Her teeth looked great too, a testament to our regular efforts to clean dog teeth to prevent dental disease.
Here’s Sophie on Day 28… the picture of health. Look how she glows! Her skin and coat are radiant and so is her smile. She feels awesome and it shows. She lost a few pounds on the 28 Day Challenge and I think it made her feel even more spry.

Sophie’s super cute!! I’ve always wondered about Purina One. Our two rottweilers (sisters) are nine years old this month. i recently switched them to Purina Senior which has done wonders for the hip issues. Glad Sophie is doing great!
