Instagram Blog Hop

Instagram Blog Hop

Welcome to the Instagram Blog Hop! If you’re new around here, the Instagram Blog Hop is a party where you link up your Instagram account, find and follow new Instagram friends, and be continually inspired by what you see in your Instagram feed! No need to have a blog, just an Instagram account!

The Rules are Simple:

1. Follow your HOSTS:

Kimberly of A Night Owl | Instagram: @anightowlblog
Emily of The Pink Elephant | Instagram: @mrsemshhh
Angie of Little Inspiration| Instagram: @blogali

2. Follow your CO-HOSTS:

Danielle | Instagram: @sewmuchcrafting
You can find Danielle here:
Blog :: Facebook :: Twitter :: Pinterest
Malia | Instagram: @maliakarlinsky
 You can find Malia here:
Blog :: Facebook :: Twitter :: Pinterest

3. Link up your Instagram Web Profile:

Just link up your new Instagram Web Profile ( -OR- your web viewer of choice in the linky below!
Note: this URL will not let you choose a profile pic from your feed, so be sure you have a picture you can upload from your computer if you use it! If you get a “Error: The requested URL returned error: 500″ error that just means it can’t find a picture to use NOT that your link is bad. Just click on “Direct Image URL” if you have one or “Upload from Computer”. If you still have trouble, try sticking with Followgram or Webstagram to upload your profile.

4. Check out and follow a few fellow Instagram friends.

Tell folks you follow that you found them through the IGBH!

5. Spread the word!

Tweet about it, share it on Facebook or post about it on Instagram!

Now let’s link up!

For some reason, my blog is having a hard time with the link portion so please visit A Night Owl to share your Instagram link!

Moving Is Messy

Hi Friends… I have something exciting to share with you. No, not my dirty dishes!

So for the next 24-48 hours, my posts will be available on, but then everything will be back at

Thanks for understanding!

Lots of Fuss about Google+

Hi Friends!

As many of you know, we non-"Blogger" bloggers (YoT is on Typepad) will be losing Google Friend Connect on March 1st. I am strangely sad… I feel happy when I see all those lovely friendly faces smiling at me from my little GFC box. But onward and upward– there's no point in crying over spilled milk or in this case– over free widgets that have come to mean so much.

At any rate, Google is encouraging people to go to Google+ to connect with friends. In case you are new to Google+ (I am too) and you want to stay connected, you can find me here, and I PINKY PROMISE I will joyfully follow you back.

Life IS a Picnik

Also worth noting– Picnik, that wonderful user-friendly photo editing site which was puchased by Google some time ago– is becoming part of Google+. More info here. I think that's extra incentive to go Google+. AND in the meantime, they are giving everyone a PREMIUM membership FOR FREE… so check it out! It's a $25 value!

The Scoop on Google+

One extremely helpful series I have been reading is by the fabulous Colleen (from the blog Mural Maker and More). Colleen has written some posts that demystify about Google+. You can check them out here:

Google+ and Creative Bloggers Part 1: What is Google+ Anyway?

Part 2: The Pros and Cons of Google+

Google+ Part 3: Setting Up Your Profile Page

Google+ for Creative People Part 4: Circles

And, you can find Colleen on Google+ here. She's amazing!

What if I'm not ready or interested in Google+?

Some people don't want to take on another social media tool– and I totally understand that. You can still subscribe to your favorite blogs, including  *hopefully* YoT (upper left hand corner) though Feedburner or in a Reader.

Bev from Flamingo Toes has written a great post on how this, titled "The Mystery of RSS Feeds".

Thank you Colleen and Bev for your insightful posts.

Hugs to everyone!

Mad for Free Stuff

Hi Dolls!

It's Sunday and you know what that means.  Mad Men is on!  I think I'm more in love with the costumes than the characters right now.  The props and sets are pretty fab too.  Did you know that you can Mad Men Yourself for free?  This is me circa the 1960's…

And here's Don and I.  I really like my outfit.

Wordle is another fun place to play.  You can create and print word clouds.  The possibilities are endless.

Wordle: Untitled

And this is a new one for me… but a very interesting one– Dumpr.  You upload your photos and do fun stuff to them.

Here's my sweetie and I this summer at Lake Chelan:

And here's what I did to the photo with Dumpr:

Pretty cool, huh?  Hope you are having a fun weekend.  BIG Hug!  Malia
