A friend of mine (and fellow Mom) was recently telling me how guilty she feels buying "new" crayons for school when there are tons of perfectly fine broken pieces of crayons all over the house. The solution– don't feel gulity… upcycle those old stubby crayons into cute ones. They would make great back to school party favors too.
Remove the paper from the crayons.
Break the crayons up into small pieces and arrange by color in the silicone mold.
Place mold on top of a baking pan and bake at 300 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
Remove from oven when all the wax has melted.
Let the crayons cool off and harden and pop them out of the mold.
Follow this link to the Back To School Bag Toppers.
Click actions, then view all sizes (scroll down until you see "view all sizes"), then select "original," save to your computer and print.
Place the crayons in some cell bags and add the bag toppers. The felt apples are from the dollar bin at Michaels.
