Simple Homemade Playdough
Hello! Did you have a wonderful holiday weekend? We did. We went to a festive morning get-together at our neighbors, then spent the afternoon at my Aunt's farm where she has horses and baby chicks… it makes me want to have my own little chicken coop here. Not sure I can talk the husband into that one. J
ANYWAY… here's my absolute favorite homemade playdough recipe. It is super simple! Bonus: The kids can help too and since it's fairly fast to make, there are no long attention spans required.
You Need: 3 cups of boiling water, 2 cups salt, food coloring, 5 tablespoons vegetable oil, 2 heaping tablespoons of cream of tartar and four cups of flour. *Note: You can also use Kosher salt
Have your helper measure a little more than 3 cups of water and bring to a boil. (You need 3 cups for the recipe).
Your helper can measure the other ingredients too
Combine the salt, food coloring, vegetable oil and cream of tartar and add the boiling water.
Mix the first 5 ingredients and slowly add flour. Stir and knead until consistency of soft dough is reached. Dough should not be sticky or crumbly.
Yes we colored our playdough soft pink! It's my playdough partner's fav color.
It's the simple things that are the most fun. Linking up!
Going to have to share this link with my Artfire Kids Guild. Always looking for fun things to do with children, thanks for sharing!
environmentally friendly, non- toxic, easily done and PRETTY. What’s not to love? Dang, I want some for myself!
Tell Mr Tuesday a chicken coop is an absolute must. No two ways about it. It could be worse, you could ask for ostriches, so he should consider himself lucky!
Okay, if you don’t have yet a nsp pick me! I just found out about your blog, i love it, and i knew i would as soon as i saw the pinafore on your little icon girl.
