Ruffles and Rust 2012: 7 Hot Trends in Vintage

Hi Pals… I hope you all had a wonderous Mother's Day! We had a nice morning with just us four and some heartwarming handmade gifts… and one luxurious store-bought one (thank you honey!)… then family brunch with my parents, mother-in-law, and my brother and his fam (including two wee cutie girl cousins).. then we got SLURPEES (what can I say… I heart 7-11) then I got to take a NAP on the couch… heaven!

BUT… rewind to Friday night. I was sick and lost my voice but not my my desire to SHOP VINTAGE at with my Mom one of my all-time favorite shows… Ruffles and Rust! After a few hours at R & R, I fell into a crumpled heap… clutching a mug of hot tea… but BEFORE…

The head honcho, Timi Weathers, was kind enough to let me in a bit early to snap some pix… I'm sure she knows I am "pre-shopping" at the same time! So here are the trends I spotted:

  1. I’m going on Friday night next time! I heard that lots of great stuff was already gone by Saturday morning (when I went.) I blogged about the show, too. I love how you captured the trends. Did you buy any goodies?
Next time I’ll have to get your phone number before so we can meet in person. :)

  2. Great photos of all the different areas for lovely vintage finds. I think every office should have a globe map light, not sure about with the dingle balls though. I should become an interior decorator, because I certainly do not have any room in my own house for all the wonderful vintage items that I come across, but would love to work into a design.

  3. Love the old fashioned cosmetic travel case and always wonder why they don’t bring it back. Crinolines! So cute and I used to love them, so feminine. Also wonder why they don’t bring back vent windows in cars…. Hugs and hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day!
