Starting Project Life

This post is part of a paid campaign with American Crafts, but all opinions are my own.

Project Life

Hi There Friends! I am so happy about this post about Project Life. It’s literally been YEARS in making. You see, I am a born-again-memory keeper. Cue the clouds opening and the sun shining: TA DA(!) thanks to Project Life, I’ve had my first successful memory keeping project in years. Now it will be easy to continue.

I used to be a passionate scrapbooker. Before my daughter was born (full disclosure: she’s 7 years old now) I used to faithfully scrapbook every moment, big and small. I took hundreds of photos, jotted down every detail of our lives, subscribed to every scrapbooking magazine out there and got anxious if I fell a week behind. A week!

And then what happened? Life I guess. As my family grew, so did the busyness. Then my son had a serious back injury, we moved, started attending a different school… {actually all that stuff sounds like great scrapbooking material}. I guess what happened  was that scrapbooking became too big of a time investment and since I couldn’t do it the way I wanted to… I put memory keeping on the back burner UNTIL NOW.

Project Life is an approach to memory keeping that I can “keep up” with and feel good about.

American Crafts sent me the Project Life 5th and Frolic Edition, Big Variety Pack 2 Photo Pocket Pages and an album. Here were my SUPER simple steps to completing two pages.

Here’s something else I love about Project Life. It’s a cinch to get the kids involved. My kids each did some journaling. I will treasure their words and their handwriting for years to come!

Here’s the second page, it also took 5-10 minutes to put together. YIPPEE!

A BIG thank you to American Crafts for getting me back on a doable memory keeping track.

  1. Malia, I’ve been in the same boat with memory-keeping — just couldn’t keep up. I am so excited about Project Life, and to be honest, I was dubious at first. I figured I’d go ahead and give it a try, and I’m so glad I did. The quality is great! The designs are absolutely charming. Best of all, as you pointed out, is the ease of use. In a matter of minutes I was able to lay-out picture-perfect pages!
