Holiday Home Tour
{Holiday Home Tour}
Hello! Welcome to my Holiday Home Tour. But let me be clear that this is NOT my holiday home (in my dreams maybe). It belongs to Jody:
I got the opportunity to photograph Jody’s home a few years ago and I love her style as much today just as much as I did then! It’s absolutely gorgeous and l and I can’t wait to show you around. There are so many creative ideas here that are perfect for the holiday season or any time! Let’s take a stroll around this winter wonderland!
A vintage wreath adorns a birdcage. Not Jody also uses the birdcage to hold some of here vintage plates and serving pieces.
I love that she isn’t afraid to have multiple trees displayed! Why should we limit ourselves? Here, two trees flank an oversized chippy vintage chest.
Every time I see this photo I can’t help but smile. Jody thinks outside the box when it comes to decor. Here she’s hung a child’s costume (made out of crepe paper!). It’s a work of art and deserves to be treated like one!
Here’s my fantasy Christmas tree! Pinks and aquas grace a fluffy white tree.
A large pink crinoline skirt serves as a skirt for this special tree, and how fun to have vintage ornaments that are still in the box!
Here’s Jody’s kitchen table. She was in to blue Mason Glass long before many of us!
One thing that makes Jody such a great decorator is her use of “things for other things.” This vintage swan started out as a kid’s swing! Jody uses it to stash magazines. Brilliant!
Out of the closet and on to the wall! These dresses (including one of Jody’s prom dresses) add charm and to a white wall. Her collection of vintage hats are a nice complement. See that shelf in the middle?
It’s made from sparkly shoe heels!
This vignette is one of my favorites. The watercolor was painted by Jody when she was a child. The wintry scene fits right in!
Another great example of displaying unusual pieces for visual impact. These tiny festive holiday outfits are so charming!
Every item gets special treatment. Even the paper whites are elevated with some clear crystals.
Jody’s bedroom is just dreamy. I love that she has an old sugar sack that’s been transformed into a pillow! Talk about sweet dreams!
The crinoline gets put on display as an oversized lampshade! Just beautiful.
And finally, this bird who watches over Jody’s sweet dreams isn’t confined to a bird cage (which has been sprinkled with glitter of course!) It’s playfully perched on top.
Thank you for letting me photograph your amazing space, Jody! I know Jody will be having a magical Christmas this year. Santa brought her gift early this year… she got married last summer.
Happy Holidays!
