It comes together quickly and it makes even the chilliest evenings feel warm. I like to pair the soup with these delicious Parmesan Crisps… because there’s never enough cheese when it comes to French Onion Soup.

French Onion Soup Recipe

Ingredients: 3 medium onions, 1 tsp flour, 2 tbs butter, 2 cans Swanson Chicken Broth, 2 cans Swanson Beef Broth, baguette of french bread cut into 1/2 slices, 1/4 cup shredded swiss cheese, 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese. Makes 6 servings.

  • 3 medium onions, sliced

  • Loaf of French Bread, cut in 1/2 slices (you’ll need at least 2 slices)
  • 1/4 cup each of shredded Swiss and Parmesan Cheese
Instructions
  1. Saute butter and flour
  2. Add onions and stir until golden brown
  3. Add beef and chicken broth
  4. Stir till heated thoroughly
  5. Place on piece of bread at the bottom of the soup bowl
  6. Add soup mixture
  7. Top with Swiss and Parmesan Cheese
  8. Make at 350 degrees until cheese melts
