Easy Bow Tie Cookies for Father’s Day
Here’s a darling kid-friendly idea for Father’s Day: Bow Tie Cookies! They’re fun and easy to make them Dad will love them.
Supplies: Nutter Butter Cookies, Yellow Candy Melts from Wilton, York Minis, 1 1/2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and Writing Icing.
Directions
{Place Nutter Butters on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper}
1. Put the yellow candy melts in a microwave safe bowl and heat at one minute intervals in the microwave until melts are completely melted.
2. Stir the the vegetable oil (this thins the candy melts).
3. Dip the Nutter Butters into the melted red candy and place on the cookie sheet. Note: You can fit 24 cookies on a sheet.
4. Place cookies sheet in fridge for an hour.
5. To make the center of the bow tie, use writing icing to outline a circle shape on the York Mini.
6. Fill it in and add icing the sides.
7. Add to the cookie to make the center of the bow (add a little but of frosting underneath to make the candy and the cookie stick together).
8. Decorate the rest of the bow tie with polka dots or lines.
