Pink Party!

Hi Friends–  We're in the pink over here this morning…

After celebrating Mia's 5th Birthday yesterday with a Pink Party.  I'm going to post a tutorial on making a crepe paper wreath soon.  But in the meantime, here are some photos from the party.

We had a "Candy Bar" where kids could choose what goodies they wanted to take home.

We used simple wax sandwich bags and these cute labels to label each child's treat bag.

My Mom loaned me a bunch of pretty glass containers for the candy.  I used Mia's baby quilt as a tablecloth.

I had the opportunity to use some of the American Pottery pieces I've collected over the years to hold utensils and straws.

The sundae set up.  See that pink plastic stuff?  I thought I was buying a tablecloth but it was just the edge stuff.  So I cut it up and used it around the house.

These plastic ice cream dishes are from the discount bin at Michael's .50 cents apiece.

Another fun find at my local craft store.  It cost less to use these cloth bags for take-home favors than it would to buy the same size in paper.  I used my stash to add the flowers and decorations.

Mia wanted to make sundaes at her party instead of having cake so I picked up these ceramic sundae dishes at Michael's (again the bargain bin) they were .79 cents apiece.  The "tablecloth" is my old sheet from college.  That was twenty years ago and the sheets have held up great.

More from the Michael's markdown section.  These sundae themed decorations were .50 cents each. I added the crepe paper to give them a little something extra.

For the "activity" I painted wooden jewelry boxes with pink paint (of course) and painted some treasure chests brown for the dudes.  The kids got to decorate them.

We set out all the fun stuff for the kids to do their projects.

Confession:  I wanted to play with these gems myself.

These pom poms were so fun.  Another Michael's bargain.

Ice cream mania!  The kids got to choose their own toppings including cashews, cherries, hot fudge, strawberries, sprinkles, and whipped cream.

What a fun party!  As Mia said, "We're so lucky" and that's how I feel too.  We had about twenty-five kids, five moms (who were a great help) two teen kid wranglers (awesome helpers too) and Grammy Eve (couldn't have done it without her).  Unfortunately Neal had to work but that's a good excuse to celebrate again when he gets home.  Happy Birthday, Sweet Girl!

Mom

Hope you have a fantastic day.  BIG Hug!  Malia
