Party Planning for The Big Game

The Big Game is coming up… and with one stop at Walmart, you can get everything you need to throw a fun and festive Homegate party! I’m sharing a yummy recipe, party planning ideas, a fun solitaire app to pass the time during half-time, a free printable and more. First up… a shopping trip. #PrepareToParty #CollectiveBias

I found the Ritz Crackers display right when I walk in the front of my local Walmart store. Needless to say, I snagged a few boxes.

 Next up: Coca-Cola Classic of course! The shelves in the front of Walmart were stocked so I snagged a few six packs of half liter bottles.

And what’s a good Homegate Party without PIZZA? The DiGiorno® Pepperoni STUFFED CRUST® Pizza was a must-have. I knew my guests would devour it. Adults and kids alike both love DiGiorno® Pepperoni STUFFED CRUST® Pizza. It’s easy to be a good hostess when you this pizza– created with real mozzarella cheese and vine-ripened tomatos from California. The neat thing is you can bake it up fresh in your oven when folks start getting hungry. These pizzas are currently on a Rollback at Walmart.

 Speaking of guests, half the fun of watching football is the food… starting with appetizers.  I decided to create a slightly spicy recipe for the crackers. I call it my “Ritz Blitz Topping Recipe.” It’s a twist on guacamole.

You just need a few delicious ingredients!

Ingredients: Ritz Crackers, 3 ripe avocados, 1 large tomato, 2 garlic cloves, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 1/2 chili powder (or to taste), Tabasco Sauce, a lime, and 1/4 cup of Mexican blend cheese and

cilantro leaves for garnish.

Step 1: Mash the avocados, chop up the tomato and onion and mince the garlic.

Step 2: Blend the the avocado, onions, tomato and garlic together.

 Step 3: Add salt, pepper and chili powder.

Step 4: Add two shakes of Tabasco Sauce (or to taste) and mix well.

Step 5: Add a squeeze of lime juice.

 

Step 6: Combine well and pop in fridge for 1 hour.

Step 7: Scoop a spoonful of the avocado mixture on the Ritz Crackers.

Pretty, right?

Step 8: Add a sprinkle of cheese and a cilantro leaf to garnish.

A Homegate party is the perfect place too serve these up! I couldn’t wait to serve Coca-Cola, Digiorno Pepperoni Stuffed Crust® Pizza and Ritz products at my Big Game Homegate Party!

I knew my guests would want to grab a Coca-Cola and a Ritz Cracker snack as soon as they arrived, so I set up my table with that in mind. I dressed some of the bottles up with free printables (available below) and I created an area where people could “Spritz or Spread” their Ritz Cracker! I had Easy Cheese on hand as well as peanut butter and chocolate spread. Whether my guests were craving something cheesy or sweet… they were covered.

Here’s a fun touch: Game Predictor Cards. I set aside a space for guests to make their own predictions. The idea is to read them out loud after The Big Game and see who came the closest!

 I also made a “football” out of Ritz Crackers and Easy Cheese (figuring that everyone would be grabbing a few).

The DiGiorno® Pepperoni STUFFED CRUST® Pizza looked inviting and yummy!
