 Thanksgiving Crafts

Thanksgiving is the perfect time to create meaningful crafts with your family. Here are 4 Meaningful Thanksgiving Projects.
Handprint Turkey Platter - Yesterday on Tuesday #thanksgiving #turkey
Handprint Turkey Platter: We all remember the traditional kid’s Thanksgiving craft we
did in elementary school—the one where you trace the child’s hand to make a
turkey? This is a fresh take on it for Thanksgiving. Get a large white plate or platter from a thrift store. Trace the hands of all the kids in the family with
Sharpie pens. Let the kiddos color/decorate their turkeys and add their names
and ages. Bake in oven for 30 minutes at 350 degrees and the ink
becomes permanent! The “turkey” platter will be a precious keepsake for this
Thanksgiving and Thanksgivings to come.
Salt Dough Pendants - Yesterday on Tuesday #saltdough #thanksgiving
Salt Dough Pendants: Here’s another “flashback craft” from childhood– Salt Dough! This is a cool one to do with kids because they will enjoy the process of creating the pendants as much as they’ll love wearing them.
Salt Dough Pendants Recipe
4 Cups Salt
3 Cups Water
2 Cups Cornstarch
Combine the ingredients and cook over medium heat. Stir for about 3 minutes (it will seem like bread dough). When there’s little liquid left, remove from heat and pour onto wax paper. After it cools (parent job), knead for a few minutes. Roll out and punch out shapes with leaf cookie cutters. Poke a hole in the top with a straw or skewer. Bake at 225 degrees for 2 hours OR allow to air dry (takes a few days). Paint with acrylic paint or use ink and rubberstamps to decorate. Loop some ribbon or twine through the hole to make a fun autumn jewelry.
Thankful Tree- Yesterday on Tuesday #thanksgiving #thankful
Thankful Tree: If you’re looking for a way to get guests in
the spirit of the holiday, consider a Thankful Tree. Grab some branches from
your backyard or find pretty faux leafy branches at the supermarket or craft
store. As guests arrive, have them jot down something they are
grateful for and using a small clothespin, attach it to the tree. It makes for
a meaningful display everyone will enjoy.
Photo Place Cards - Yesterday on Tuesday #thanksgiving
Picture Place Cards: This is a simple activity that will get everyone feeling that Thanksgiving love. Forgo traditional place cards and use photos of your guests instead. Use double-sided tape to attach and index card or lined paper and write, “I am thankful for… (whoever it is) on the back. Everyone takes a moment to reflect and write why they are thankful for each other. All the guests will feel special!

  1. Such cute ideas. I found my girls turkey handprints from when they were little and need to figure out a way to frame them to keep for a long time. I really like that plate idea.
