Living with Hive

I’ve been lucky enough to use Hive’s Welcome Home Plan for the past few weeks– I am really enjoying living with Hive! It allows you to control vital aspects of your home… right from your smart phone. The Hive Welcome Home Starter Plan lets people adjust temperature, lighting and appliances from wherever they are. So if you have a job, kids, pets… or ever leave your house for any reason– you need this!

It was super easy to set it up. The way I figure it, I’d prefer to spend my precious time with my friends and family. That’s why a Hive Connected Home is the perfect addition to my life. It allows me to manage my home when I’m not there, so I can spend less time on tasks and more time living. After ordering, the products show up on your doorstep.

Then you just follow their easy guide to set them up.

Here was my dining room lamp before. I really don’t like coming home to a dark house before. Then I got the Hive Welcome Home Plan!

I’m no tech wiz, but following their easy instructions, I was able to set up the Hive Hub and Hive Active Light.

You create your Hive user account online. Then connect your Hive Hub to your broadband router and power supply.

Then you download the Hive app. Then simply follow the instructions in the app and enter your id.

When the Hive installation is complete, you are able to add light bulbs, plug and sensors by following the online directions.

Doesn’t me lamp look great with the Hive lightbulb? Using the app, I am able to control when it goes on…

And off manually or by putting it on a schedule. I can even control the brightness!

I couldn’t wait to open the box. Part of me was wondering if these products would seem really different from the regular ones (lightbulbs, plugs) that I was used to… but they didn’t look that different at all.
