Making the Most of Some Scraps Tags
Hi Pals! I had a hankering this weekend to use up some of the random stuff that I have in my studio. Inspired by summer, I grabbed anything yellow or orange…
As well as some shipping tags and Rit Dye in Lemon Yellow.
First I dyed the tags.
Then started playing:
I didn't have a plan… here's how it all turned out:
Vintage bias tape and scraps of ribbon sewn on a tag. "Joy" is stamped on the back of a ticket.
A flower made out of crepe paper with a brad in the middle. I folded a piece of crepe paper (about 8" long) in half and ran it through the sewing machine on one side. If you pull the strings, it sort of gathers upon itself. For the stem I used a tiny hole punch and embroidery floss.
Crepe paper folded into ruffles and secured with stiches from the sewing machine.
These circles are made out of vintage tickets with a 2" circle punch. I made additional circles with a black Sharpie.
A little lace border. "Life" is stamped on some old seam binding and sewn down.
Random snippets of ribbon and crepe paper fastened via my trusty sewing machine.
