Vintage YoT: DIY Halloween Guest Towels

As I was putting out my Halloween decorations last week, I found these Halloween guest towels (which I made a couple years ago)… and they still look good!

Halloween Handtowels - Yesterday on Tuesday
Supplies:  Orange Hand Towels (I picked up mine for $2.78 apiece on clearance at Target). Avery T-Shirt Transfer paper, Fabri Tac, Canvas, Ribbon, Sewing Machine with a 'Denim" needle, an iron and your favorite Halloween Clip Art. I used some free images from The Graphics Fairy.

I found four vertical graphics I really liked and printed them out at 4 x 6.

Print your image onto the the T-Shirt Transfer paper.  Follow the directions on the Avery package to transfer it to the canvas. Cut it out, leaving a 1/2 inch or so border around the picture.

Pin it to the towel for placement and for sewing.

Sew the image onto the towel.

To get a frayed look, gently pull the loose threads from the edges.

Here's what the towels looked like with the spooky pictures.

Next step– use the Fabri Tac to glue the ribbon trim down.

Voila! Cute Halloween Handtowels
