{Halloween Tombstone Treats}

Halloween Food

I’m not one for “icky” Halloween projects, but these Halloween Tombstone treats are fun without the gross factor. This is a dessert that will delight the kids and these treats aren’t TOO unhealthy, since marshmallows are a main ingredients.

 Ingredients: 2 cups of mini marshmallows, brownies (pre-make), chocolate frosting, Pepperidge Farm Milano Cookies, Keebler Fudge Grahams, 1 cup crushed Oreos, gummy worms, black writing icing. Other supplies: skull cups available locally (Seattle-area) at Bartell Drugs and Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames. Nationally, I bet there are similar cups available at party and craft stores.

Tombstone Treats

Before you start, you’ll want to use a boxed brownie mix to bake a batch of brownies. Use a large casserole dish so the brownies are thin.

First, fill your skull cups up with mini marshmallows.

Halloween Brownie

Next,  use a drinking glass to cut round brownies out. Place on top of marshmallows.

 Using the writing icing, write on the tombstones–aka cookies. If you want the writing to be “firm,” put them in the freezer for an hour or so.

Halloween Food

 Make a cup of Oreo crumbs (12 or so cookies). I like to put them in a large Ziploc bag and use the bottom of a mug to crush them (that way the crumbs stay in the bag). Next, add a little chocolate frosting on top of the brownie and sprinkle the Oreo “dirt” on top.

Halloween Food

Finish by wedging tombstone/cookies in and a gummy worm or two.

  Have fun making these Tombstone Treats. I’d love to see your spin on them!

Sharing are these ghostly-good parties.
