Rustic Gourd Vases
{Rustic Gourd Vases}
Have you seen all the interesting gourds at the grocery store? I am so fascinated by the shapes, patterns and colors. I wanted to bring some of these amazing gourds inside and fill them with flowers.
Supplies: gourds, a grocery store flower bouquet, lemon juice, a sharp knife and a saw (for the gourds).
It was easy to cut the top off the small pumpkin and scoop the seeds. The gourds were incredibly hard to cut through. My husband used a saw to slice off their tops.
After we cut and scooped them all, I dabbed lemon juice around the tops to keep the color pretty.
Then I just added the flowers. If you have floral foam or small frogs, you can use them to secure the flowers.
I love the simple yet richly patterned look of the flowers and “vases.”
This green gourd reminds me of an Eva Zeisel piece. It has that 1960’s modern feel.
Carnations are elevated in an interesting vase.
Linking up at these great parties.
