Thanksgiving Baking Party
My daughter and I are so lucky to have a great group of mom friends and daughters. We like gathering together each month for our Mother/Daughter Book Club. We discuss a pre-selected book (that we all read) and do some fun activities. This month, it was our turn to host. So to celebrate food and friendship, our theme was Thanksgiving Baking.
My first stop was Walmart, where I knew I would be able to score some delicious ingredients for making Thanksgiving treats!
On a freestanding shelf in the middle of the grocery aisle, we found my new faves…
NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Pumpkin Spice Morsels. One word. Yum! Fall would be “fall” without the flavor of pumpkin. These morsels also have some cinnamon in them, it’s the perfect combo.
I also scored some cans of LIBBY’S® 100% Pure Pumpkin, 15oz.
The display was also in the middle of the aisle in the grocery section. Do you know LIBBY’S® 100% Pure Pumpkin is 100% natural and pure? Plus there are no preservatives.
And of course, what is holiday baking without evaporated milk?
In the baking aisle, I located NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk, 15oz. Families have been using it in their holiday baking for generations.
To get set for our upcoming soiree, we got baking! I wanted to take a classic– CARNATION® Famous Fudge, and put a Thanksgiving spin on it.
Pumpkin Spice Fudge Recipe
I’d love to share the recipe for this delectable Pumpkin Spice Fudge with you. This is one of the treats my daughter and I served at our Thanksgiving Baking Party to get the party-goers in the baking mood!

Pumpkin Spice Fudge
But of course we couldn’t stop at one recipe– not with these great ingredients. We also wanted some sort of bread so we created a twist on pumpkin bread– Pumpkin Spice Bread.
Pumpkin Spice Bread
Ingredients
2 tsp baking powder
¼ tsp baking soda
1¼ cups sifted flour
½ tsp salt
⅔ cup of sugar
1 cup NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Pumpkin Spice Morsels
1 cup diced walnuts
1 cup LIBBY’S® 100% Pure Pumpkin
2 eggs, well beaten
⅓ cup vegetable oil
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Sift dry ingredients together through sugar
Combine eggs, oil and pumpkin
Add to dry ingredients
Stir in morsels and nuts
Beat until smooth
Bake in a greased 8½ x 4½ x 2½ inch loaf pan for one hour or until toothpick comes out clean
Cool before slicing
We created a Thanksgiving buffet tablescape featuring the treats.
The Pumpkin Spice Bread was front and center.
We also left apples out (another fall favorite) for our guests to munch on.
And the fudge was kept within easy reach (no one can eat just one piece of fudge).
Little party guests were encourage to make their own aprons for baking.
Supplies: child’s size canvas apron, permanent markers, lace, graft glue and googly eyes.
Directions: Kids trace their hands to make turkeys, then color them in and decorate them. Then use craft glue to add a googly eye and a strip of lace at the top.
And to keep the creativity flowing, the kiddos were also given a little bag of baking supplies to go.
