The school year is winding down and it’s time to pause and thank teachers for all they do to help our kids learn and grow. Here are some special gifts that kids can make.

Canvas Art

Supplies:

– 12 x 16 Art Canvas from Sierra Pacific Crafts

– 8 x 10 Art Canvas from Sierra Pacific Crafts

– Wood Letters from Plaid

– Acrylic Paint in Primary Yellow from DecoArt Americana

-“Paper and Glue” scrapbook paper from Echo Park Paper Co.

– Glue

All products from Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames in Redmond

Directions

-Paint both canvases yellow. It make take 3 coats to achieve desired color.

-Paint wooden letters spelling “Best Teacher Ever” yellow

-Cut the scrapbook paper to 8 x10 inches and glue to smaller canvas

– Add a vertical photo of teacher or class to canvas

– Glue wooden letters to larger canvas, using the photo above a guide

– Glue smaller canvas to larger canvas

– Large Class Block

– Frosted Glass Finish Paint from Krylon

– A+ Teacher Vinyl

– Deco Lights from Darice

– Stand

Directions

– Spray paint the glass block with Frosted Glass Finish and let it dry

– Add the vinyl (directions on package)

-Add the lights and plug in

Teacher Monogram Sign

-Large wooden letter

– Orange Acrylic Paint

-“Paper and Glue” scrapbook paper  and sticker sheet from Echo Park Paper Co.

– Small chalkboards from Sierra Pacific Crafts

– Ribbons for hanging the monogram

– Chalk

– Stapler

– Glue

Directions

– Paint the letter orange (including the sides)

– After paint is dry, trace the letter on the wrong side of the scrapbook paper and cut out

– Glue paper on letter

– Decorate two small chalkboards with chalk and stickers, add to letter

– Flip letter over and staple ribbons for hanging

Directions

– Paint the frame brown (may take 3 coats of paint)

– Paint the horseshoe yellow and heart red

– Remove sticky back from vinyl and put it on the frame

– Glue horseshoe and heart on frame, using photo above as guide

– Using chalk, have kids in class sign chalkboard
