Vintage YoT: Tasty Cheese Wafers
You can whip these wafers up in 15 minutes flat! This is a recipe from my Grandma Millicent's recipe box.
I would never have considered making my own wafers but it's a delicious idea.
Cheese Wafers
Ingredients: 2 sticks of butter (softened), 2 cups unsifted flour, 1/2 tsp cayenne, 1/2 tsp Lea & Perrins, 2 cups Rice Krispies cereal, 2 cups sharp cheese (grated)
Directions
Mix first four ingredients
Add 2 cups of Rice Krispies
Add 2 cups sharp cheese (grated)
Form into balls and press
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes
Tips: Roll dough out on a floured surface with a floured rolling pin. Use a small drinking glass to create uniform circles. Use tin foil on the bottom of a baking sheet when baking wafers.
These look so scrumptious, Malia. Bet they’d be easy to make gluten-free too. Thanks for sharing your Grandma’s recipe.
