I'm participating in New Friend Friday. It's so fun to see all the different blogs out there and "meet" other bloggers. So many creative ideas! This week we're talking about embarrassing moments. Um too many to list here. One of my favorites happened when my husband and I were on our first date. After dinner we went for a walk around downtown Seattle (quite hilly). I had worn a skirt and heels that night to "dress up."
As we were walking down a hill, I hit an icy patch and slid a few feet on the slippery pavement. Although I had come millimeters away from falling I didn't technically fall. So I kept talking the whole time, hoping he wouldn't notice. Luckily the dark night hid my bright red cheeks.
Many dates later, my future husband told me he did notice my extreme slip, but liked the fact I didn't let it phase me and just kept going. The truth is when you're a klutz like me you are frequently dealing with these situations and get used to it. Even when you're embarrassed.
Back to the present. I recently had a logo created which will also end up on my blog header, etsy shop, hang tags etc. I am so excited. Working with the designer, I told her I wanted something vintage-y that looked a little like me. Here's what she came up with:
I fell in love with it. She looks like my little girl and I love that she is holding a rose since my tagline is "The Art of Everyday Life."
Then a couple days ago I was looking through some old photos of my Dad (we're celebrating his birthday this weekend) and I found this picture of me, age five:
Here's to wonderful coincidences and magical memories.
Awwww!!! What a lovely coincidence…no wonder I loved the illustration right from the start! YoT’s icon has style and beauty! So fun, Malia!!!
P.S. Happy Birthday to Cool Guy this weekend!!!!

Great picture…easy to see where Mia gets her charm!
Your logo is so perfect. You must have conveyed that image subconsciously somehow or sent vibes or something! :)
Wow! I love the new logo! It is amazing how much it matches that picture of you. It gave me goose bumps!!
I also love your slip down the side walk story. Hilarious!
Love your new logo! Even cuter is the pic of you with the rose. It was meant to be for sure!
