Candy Corn Cupcakes

Hi Ghouls + Goblins…

It's scary how much I enjoy this time of the year. I have a major sweet tooth and Halloween is my "cover" for buying (and of course eating) massive amounts of candy corn. Now I have a new reason to get candy corn– making candy corn cupcakes.

Cupcake1

Ingredients: 1 box white cake mix

1 cup sour cream

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1/2 cup milk

2 eggs

yellow and orange food coloring

white frosting

candy corn

cupcake liners and a cupcake tin

  Cupcake2

Combine cake mix, sour cream, vegetable oil and eggs

Divide batter evenly into two bowls. Color half of the batter with orange food coloring (1 drop red to two drops yellow) and color the other half with yellow food coloring.

Cupcake3

Fill each cupcake liner with 1/4 of the orange batter

Cupcake4

And then add 1/4 cup cup of the orange batter on top

Cupcake5

Bake at 350 degrees for about half an hour.  Do the old toothpick test to make sure the cupcakes are cooked through. After the cupcakes have cooled, add the frosting and of a piece of candy corn.
