Rustic Fourth of July: Quick Crepe Paper Decorations

Crepe paper is so fun, festive and affordable for party decorations. There are many different brands out there but I have been happiest with the Hallmark (like the cards) brand. It's a little thicker than many of them out there and doesn't rip as easily. Plus at $1 a roll– it's quite a steal!

Crepe paper 1

Supplies: Red, white and blue crepe paper, sewing machine and Martha Stewart Fringe Scissors. These scissors make fringing anything so much easier. I have linked to the product on Amazon but they are also available and Michael's and with that 40% coupon, they are a great deal.

Crepe paper 2

Stack your crepe paper in the order you like.

Crepe paper 3

Simply stitch down the center of the stack.

  Crepe paper 4

Option 1: Cut fringe on one side of the paper.

Crepe paper 9

Isn't that pretty?

Crepe paper 6

Option 2: Cut fringe on both sides.

   Crepe paper 7

Love the way this looks too.

Crepe paper 8

Fluff it up for maximum impact. Ideas: Decorate mantles, tables, twist and hang from light fixtures. The possibilities are endless. Tip: Doubled sided tape works great as an adhesive.

 Happy Crepe Papering!

I looove it, I’m a crepe paper nut, I have tons of colors and love to add it to projects, but I’ve never seen the scissors before, they’re awesome! Your Red, White and blue turned out fabulous! Thanks for sharing! Debbie @ Cottage Hann~Me~Downs

I’ve never sewn crepe paper. I think I need to try that. And I think I pretty much NEED those fringe scissor things! I’ve never seen that. Adding this to my cheap decor ideas. Thanks!
