Shamrock Surprise Rice Krispie Treats

 St. Patrick's Day is all about fun and surprises…

Including these Shamrock Surprise Rice Krispie Treats! And they are so easy… a leprechaun could do it!

Here's all you need:

6 T butter

10 cups mini marshmallows

5 cups Rice Krispie cereal

green food coloring

shamrock cookie cutter

(AND I used a plastic children's medicine cup to cut circles)

MNM's

Pam cooking spray

Two 13 x 9  pans

 So I tried the microwave method this time and it worked like a {lucky} charm.

Spray both the baking pans, rubber spatula. the cookie cutter and the plastic cup.

Microwave the butter until melted. Put the marshmallows in a large, microwave safe bowl, add the butter and microwave until melted– mine was a minute and 15 seconds. Stir it well, adding a few drops of green food coloring. Coat the cereal well and spread in pans.

Cut out the shamrocks and use the plastic cup to cut out circles. 

I hate wasting perfectly good GREEN rice krispie mix! Cut out as many shamrocks as possible. I got 24 total shamrocks. Here's the FUN part:

Place some MNM's on top of one shamrock and put another shamrock on top, making a secret shamrock sandwich! Just for fun, add an MNM on top of the round shapes.

They look like green rice krispie treats but there's choclate goodness inside.
