DIY Memorial Day Decor

It’s less than two weeks away from the unofficial start of summer! Here are some cheap and chic ideas for Memorial Day Decor. But first, take a “shopping trip” around your home and see what red, white, blue and clear glass items you have already that you may be able to reuse.

Red, White and Blue Votives

Supplies:

Clear class candle holders

Red, white and blue sand (by Darice)

Silver letter stickers

Votive Candles

Directions:

Pour sand in layers (red, white and clue)

Place USA stickers on outside of candle

Add votive candle inside

Flag Tray

I already had this red metal tray. My friend Tracy saw it’s potential to be so much more!

Supplies:

Red Tray

White and Blue Sheets of Duck Tape

Cricut or Star Paper Punch

Directions:

Cut white strips for flag

Cut a large blue rectangle for flag background

Use a Cricut or star punch to make stars from white Duck Tape paper

USA Glitter Sign

Make it once… use it forever! The super simple USA sign will liven up your decor for years to come.

Supplies:

Wooden Sign

Cardboard letters (USA)

Mod Podge

Red, white and blue paint

Red, white and blue glitter

Hot Glue

Directions:

Paint letters, let dry

Apply a coat of Mod Podge and sprinkle with glitter, let dry

Use hot glue to attach letters to sign

Honor those family members who have served in the military with a Patriotic Photo Display. It’s a great conversation starter with the kids.

Supplies:

White Picket Fence Decor

Clothespins

Washi Tape

Copes of Photos

Bakers Twine

Flag Embellishments

Directions:

Cover clothespins with washi tape

Make a little mini-bunting with baker’s twine and embellishments

Pin up photos with clothespins

Add mini-bunting

Utensil Bakset

Add tulle and party essentials to a plain basket to give it a partiotic twist.

Starry Ice Bucket

Ice Bucket

Wooden Stars

Red, White and Blue Paint

Hot Glue

Directions:

Paint wooden stars red, white and blue

Use hot glue to add to ice bucket
