Millicent and Malia: Banana-Date Bread
Hello Friends! What are you up to today?
Armed with my Grandma Millicent's recipe I am baking something up to drop off at our new neighbor's house.
Banana-Date Bread
Ingredients
2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup mashed bananas
3/4 c. dates
2 eggs
Instructions
Sift flour, soda, salt and baking powder. Cream shortening and gradually add sugar. Cream well. Blend in eggs, one at a time. Beat well. Add mashed bananas, mix well. Blend in dry sifted ingredients. Fold in dates (cut finely). Pour into 9x5x3 greased pan. Let stand 20 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. Yield: 1 large or 2 small loaves.
I hope they like it!
This recipe is part of my Grandma's vintage recipe collection.

I love banana bread. It is so tasty and I love how you wrapped it and added a tag. It looks so perfect as a gift.
