Hi Pals. I've been missing making my Millicent and Malia recipes. I just went through the whole lot of recipes and categorized them for the four seasons. Of course I can't resist a fall treat!
Butterscotch-Nut Squares
Ingredients
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup light corn syrup
1 6 oz package butterscotch pieces
1/2 cup chunk-style peanut butter
2 cups corn flakes
Directions
Cream butter or margarine and brown sugar. Stir in flour. (Mixture will be crumbly.) Press in ungreased 12x9x2 inch baking pan. Bake in moderate over (350 degrees) for 15 minutes. In saucepan, combine granulated sugar and corn syrup; heat to boiling. Remove from heat. Add butterscotch pieces and peanut butter; stir until butterscotch is melted. Stir in corn flakes. Spread over baked layer. Cool; cut in squares.
