5 Fresh Lunch Ideas for Kids
Back to school time doesn’t have to mean back-to-boring-lunches! Think “out of the lunchbox” to make lunch tasty and fun.
Banish the regular lunch fare for some delicious ideas:
Healthy Ham Sandwich
Ingredients: Kroger thinly sliced Medium Cheddar, a slice of Private Selection Wildflower Honey Ham, mustard, two Simple Truth Multigrain Waffles and Simple Truth Baby Romaine Lettuce.
Instructions: Toast the waffles. After they cool off, spread them with mustard. Add lettuce, thin and thin sliced ham and cheddar. Combine slices and slice in half.
Stacked Sandwiches
Ingredients: Tomatoes, cucumbers, hummus, QFC 100% Whole Wheat Bread (cut in circles with a drinking glass or cookie cutters).
Directions: Spread hummus on bread and add veggies. Stack layers to make the sandwich fun and easy to eat.
Fruit Wrap Bites
Ingredients: Chopped pears, Simple Truth Organic Raisins, Simple Truth Cranberries, Kroger Creamy Almond Butter and whole-wheat tortilla.
Directions: Spread almost butter on whole-wheat tortilla. Add chopped pears, raisins and cranberries. Roll up and slice into bite sized portions.
Apple Sandwiches
Ingredients: An apple, Simple Truth Organic Raisins, Simple Truth Sunflower Raw Seeds and Simple Truth Organic Creamy Peanut Butter.
Directions: Cut apple into sections horizontally. Use a small cookie cutter to remove core. Spread with peanut butter and add raisins and sunflower seeds.
Salad Surprise
Ingredients: Simple Truth Organic Raisins, Simple Truth Organic Mango Slices, mandarin oranges, cooked Simple Truth Organic Quinoa.
Directions: Following package instructions, cook quinoa and let cool. Mix a cup of cooked quinoa with mandarin oranges and raisins. Slice up mango slices into small pieces and combine to salad. Add salad dressing if desired.

Great ideas! This will be the first year that we are packing lunches every day so I am always looking for new ideas to keep things fresh vs. sending turkey everyday.
