Supplies: Americana Decor Chalky Finish Paint in Escape, Romance, Everlasting and Delicate. Americana Decor Soft Touch Varnish. Wooden Advent Calendar from Michaels and number stickers from Michaels. You’ll also need a large and small paintbrush, a white wax candle and sandpaper.
Step 1: Remove the drawers and paint the tree with “Escape.”
Step 2: Paint the drawers “Everlasting,” and let dry. Paint two more times.
Step 3: Using a white wax candle, rub the wax on areas on the tree that you’d like the Everlasting color show through, including around the sides of the tree. Remove any loose wax.
Step 4: Paint the tree “Romance” by dragging a dry brush loaded with a the paint color across the tree. Leave the sides of the tree “Everlasting.” When dry, light sand over some of the areas you want the “Everlasting” color to peek through.

Step 6: Replace drawers. Using a cloth, apply Americana Soft Touch Varnish to the tree.
Step 7: Distress the star with sandpaper and paint it “Delicate.”
