Fall Pumpkin Sign

DIY Fall Pumpkin Sign:How to transform a foam disc into a textured pumpkin, great for fall decorating!

There’s a chill in the air, your favorite coffee shop is serving up pumpkin spice lattes and you feel the urge to and make your home feel warm and cozy– yep, it must be fall! Speaking of  pumpkins, there’s a neat way to create a one out of a foam disc from FloraCraft®! And right now is the perfect time to create some fall decor.

Supplies: FloraCraft® Make It Fun® Foam Discs, FloraCraft® Smooth Finish, a wooden sign (I painted mine white), wooden letters, acrylic paint (brown, yellow and orange), a small spatula, something to stir the Smooth Finish, green curling ribbon and a cinnamon stick cut in thirds (each piece approximately 2 inches long). You’ll also need three paintbrushes, a spouncer and a glue gun.

This is pretty COOL… you are going to transform a foam disc into a pumpkin, with texture!

Step 1: Stir the Smooth Finish until it’s well mixed. I used a wooden spoon.

Step 2: Add some to the spatula and spread on the disc, making “lines” and adding texture.

This is what mine looked like. It’s pretty fun! Let it dry overnight.

Step 3: Do a base coat of brown paint on the disc (this will give your pumpkin some depth). While you’ve got the brown paint out, paint your background brown too.

Step 4: Paint a coat of orange paint on the disc (it may take two coats). Let it dry.

Step 5: Paint the letters yellow. DIY Fall Pumpkin Sign:How to transform a foam disc into a textured pumpkin, great for fall decorating!

Step 6: Use the spouncer to add orange polka dots to the letters.

Step 7: Glue foam disc on the sign. Add the curling ribbon and cinnamon sticks.
