Delightful Daffy Pots

It suddenly feels like spring and I am loving it. I saw some daffodils on sale at a local shop and I HAD to get them. I thought the kids could give them to their teacher's for St. Patrick's Day.

Supplies: masking tape clay pots, chalkboard paint in peapod, gold spray paint, chalk.

Optional– black acrylic paint.

Daff2

Spray paint the pots.

Daff3

Leave them perfect or distress them a with an old sponge and some black paint.

Daff4

I like things a little roughed up.

Daff5

Tape off a place to paint with the chalkboard paint.

Daff6

Peapod is such a fresh color.

Daff7

Paint 3-4 coats of chalkboard paint, allowing each layer to dry.

Daff9

If your painting lines aren't *perfect* and it bugs you, use a wet paper towel to sharpen up the lines.

I sham-rocked out for the final time this year.

Daff12

I wasn't sure about the green and gold but the daffodils look so nice with it.

Daff11

Always love a heart.

All ready for St. Pat's

Here's to the first bit of spring!

  1. These are cute! I was planning on doing something similar for my herbs for outside on the deck. I didn’t know they made green chalkboard paint. Very cute! Found you over at BNOTP.

  2. These are so cute! You’re so sweet to give them as gifts! I keep seeing those flower at the store for $1.99 and I need to buy some!

  3. Cute idea. I did this for Christmas and also sprayed a wood wreath gold. Set the pot in the center, wove some ribbon on the wreath and put in a voitce. Lovely centerpiece! I love that you share, thought I would share back.

  4. Those are cute. I like the green paint. Although the gold is pretty, I think for a flower pot, the gold would be too fancy without the green and the chalkboard to tone it down for the more rustic touch of the flowers. I’m sure your kids’ teachers will love their gifts.

  5. Those are fantastic, Malia! LOVE them!
