Make It Monday: Family Frame Project
Hi Friends!
I'm sort of going through "VWS"…
Vacation Withdrawal Syndrome.
While looking through photos of our recent family trip, I decided we needed a daily reminder of how much fun we had.
This project is quick and easy. The best part is that the kids do the creating.
Supplies: A wooden frame with lots of "real estate" (this one is from Michaels), chalkboard paint, letter circles (or scrabble time would be cute), and colored chalk, Quick Grip or some other type of strong glue.
Most important ingredient– a cute family photo.
Optional: Oil paint in Burnt Umber to give your letters that vintage look. I ended up liking my mine the way they came.
Apply three coats of chalkboard paint, allowing time for each layer to dry
"Season" the frame by rubbing the side of a piece of chalk all over it and wiping it off.
Decide where you want the letters and let the kids do the decorating with chalk.
Glue down the letters, insert photo and you're done! Use a damp cloth to wipe up mistakes/change the drawings.

Looks great! I have never heard of seasoning it with chalk. We need a creative way to display family photos too (I am very lax in that area).
