Accidental Art + A Tasty Bacon Flavored Giveaway
I was working on these:
They're strips of canvas cut with pinking shears and spritzed with glimmer mist. I thought they would make cute flowers. I was using the top of a cardboard box for my project. After the strips dried, it looked like this:
It grabbed my attention and I wanted to do something with it. I pulled out a vintage frame and mat set that I recently picked up for 75 cents. I love the colors of the mats.
I also happen to have a fantastic Mom who is my partner in fun + business who I wanted to make something special for. I found this lovely poem on the internet– no author was credited.
Mothers and Daughters
We're daughters and mothers
Not so long ago.
We give and take
And take and give
Along time's endless row.
Love is passed
And love received
To be passed on again:
A precious heirloom
Twice, twice blessed,
A spiritual cardigan.
I'll put it on
And treasure it,
The me I have received,
And when the roles
Reverse again,
I'll have what I most need.
So may our love
Go on and on,
A hundred thousand years;
Mothers and daughters,
Daughters and mothers,
Through joys and other tears.
Putting it all together in a craft mash-up (got that from Glee) the project looks like this:
I guess we never lose the desire to make something for our Moms on Mother's Day! (Don't worry, she also got a gift card to her favorite store LOL).
Don't miss out on this Giveaway from Baconsalt. Oprah is a fan! And there's no real bacon in the ingredients– which is hard to believe because it tastes so good. My family and I can easily go through a jar of Baconaise in a week. There's also a sweet story behind the business– started by two friends just a few years ago.
They're generously giving away their Ultimate Bacon Lover's Gift Pack:
What's included:
6 Different Flavors of Bacon Salt. Flavors include a jar of Original and 5 delicious new Limited Edition Bacon Salt flavors (Cheddar, Jalapeno, Maple, Applewood and Mesquite)
A jar of Baconnaise (Like Mayo but with a bacon flavor, your sandwiches will never be the same)
A Bacon Lip Balm
All in a fun, bacon themed box
