Millicent and Malia: Crab Hot Dish
Hi Friends… I am making my way through my Grandma Millicent's recipes. Out here in Seattle we are lucky to have access to fresh crab. So this week I'm going "main dish"– seafood style!
Crab Hot Dish
Ingredients: 10 slices white bread, 2 cans (12 oz) crab, 1/2 cup mayo, 1 chopped onion, 1/2 green onion chopped, 1 cup chopped celery, 3 cups of milk, 4 eggs, 1 can cream of mushroom soup, 2 cups grated cheese.
Directions:
Cube half of the bread and put in the bottom of a greased casserole dish
Mix crab, mayo, onion, green pepper and celery together and spread over bread
Trim crust and fit remaining bread of top
Beat eggs and milk and pour over
Refrigerate overnight
Bake at 325 degrees for 15 minutes
Spoon soup over top and add cheese
Bake 1 hour at 325 degrees
Enjoy!

Sounds delicious Malia! I am in Maryland and we also have great crab meat so I will be trying this.
Yeah, that’s the tkiect, sir or ma’am
I made this exactly as the recipe suggests and it was very tasty. It took it to a potluck where we were supposed to try out Pinterest Recipes we had pinned but never used. Of all the girls that were there, I was the only one that brought a winner! I think I was the only one that didn’t like the flavor of the mushroom soup but the texture was a nice addition. The leftovers were the best part. Very hearty and the vegetables tasted crisp and fresh. Good stuff!
I am making it again right now!
