Mason Jar Christmas Tree
Who says a Christmas Tree has to be a “tree?” I have been loving the Spring Green Heritage Mason Jars that came out earlier this year. They are the perfect color for Christmas! I decided to make my own tree.
Supplies: Eight Ball Canning quart sized jars in Heritage Green, four Ball Canning Jars pint sized jars in Heritage Green, scrap wood that’s 24 inches, another piece that’s 19 inches long and a shorter, 5 inch long piece. My scrap wood happened to be two inches or so thick. You’ll also need “Holiday Snow,” white spray paint, a string of lights, and a decoration for the top of the “tree.” I happened to have the glittery “Merry Christmas” that I picked up from the Target $3 bin a few years ago.
Step 1: Spray paint the wood white.
Step 2: Spray the five “bottom” quart jars with the faux snow. I sprayed them from the top to the bottom, then I sprayed the next level of three quart jars half way up.
Step 3:Place the five quart jars on the “bottom” level with the longest piece of wood on top.
Step 4: Then the three middle quart jars.
Step 5: Place the medium sized wood on top and then the three smaller pint jars.
Step 6: Next, string the Christmas lights behind the bottom level of jars then up and over the top to accentuate the “tree” look.
Step 7: Add a sign if you have one.
Step 8: Finish with an ornament on top. This vintage pink ornament is special to me because it’s from my Dad. His parents used it on their family tree when he was growing up.
Merry Christmas to Ball… I mean All!
