Fairy Birthday Party

Fairy Birthday Party

Hi Friends! I’ve been sweeping up the fairy dust today, following Mia’s Fairy Party.

Fairy Birthday Party Favors

My sweet six-year-old(!) had a magical time on her special day.

I tucked the invites into a wax paper envelope with a vial of pink glitter and sewed the package shut with a doily to finish it. The font is called “Just another stamp font.” It’s free and you can find it here from DaFont.

Mia likes having tea with her friends so we pulled out my collection of mismatched china cups and saucers for tea and cupcakes later. It was decaf iced tea. But seemed so fancy in these teacups.

We had a couple of fun activities planned including a Fairy Treasure Hunt. The kiddos followed clues to get their fairy home ready then got the fairy when they were finished.

I was inspired by Heidi Swapp’s blog post about her daughter’s fairy party. I placed a little moss in a dozen large Mason jars and embellished with some stickers from K & Co. and some seam binding.

Here are the items for the fairy homes. They’re from Dollar Tree, Target, and Micheals.

Fp15

I used this free clip art called “Victorian Border of Brown Twigs and Green Leaves” available at FromOldBooks.org and created these treasure hunt guides in Picknik.

Fp5vidia

I picked up two sets of six fairies from Target. Here’s Vidia, a fast-flying fairy…

Fp8irdessa

Iridessa, a light-talent fairy…

Fp7fawn

Fawn, an animal-talent fairy…

Fp11rosetta

Rosetta, a garden-talent fairy…

Fp6silvermist

Silvermist, a water-talent fairy…

Fp12tinkerbell

And of course, Tinkerbell, a tinker-talent fairy.

Fp13

I have to admit it was a blast lining them up pre-party.

Fp14

I was sort of sorry I had to hide them for the grand finale of the treasure hunt!

Fp17

Meanwhile… some of Mia’s birthday gifts from us were a fairy costume and the word’s greatest sparkly shoes. We gave it to her before the soiree.

Also from Target.

Fp19wings

I’m not sure where the wings came from, but they worked out great. The perfect outfit for a fairy party.

Fp16crowns

Another activity for the party goers was decorating these felt crowns.

  Fp18crownflowers

There were flowers, butterflies and hearts…

Fp18crownsboysstuff

As well as animal shapes. Since they were stickers, the kids could do their own embellishing.

Fp20

It was a gorgeous day and I got to read the little partiers a picture book, aptly titled “TinkerBell” to get everyone in the mood.

Fp21

Neal took them on the hunt to fill up their fairy habitats. The last stop was me– I sprinkled some fairy dust on the kids and in the jars and gave them their little fairies to take home.

Fp22

The kids got to sip tea and nibble on these pink and purple butterfy themed cupcakes.

Fp23

Can you believe that I was so busy I didn’t get one! I heard they were quite tasty though.

Here’s the dining room before picture. As for decor…

Love this.

There are some VERY cute free fairy party printables to be found. These Enchanted Fairy Birthday Party printables are from the Hostess with the Mostess blog and they fit in perfectly with our theme. I popped the “Happy Birthday” sign frames and placed them around the house (and oustide).

And I found these “year” printable there too.

Fp176s
And used them on top of some framed images we have in our dining room. The bunting is from Target. I found it in their party section. It was pretty inexpensive and saved me a lot of time trying to sew something similar.

Mia and her pals had a great time and I had tons of fun putting the celebration together.

Thanks Heidi Swapp, DaFont, From Old Books and Hostess with the Mostess!

XO

  2. stopping by from the hop, and seriously don’t think I’ve seen a sweeter b-day party than this! So fun and girly! LOVE IT! I have two boys, but always said if we had a girl, we’d name her Mia. LOve that name!!

  3. This is the cutest idea! The little fairies look so cute lined up in the jars! My little boy is having a birthday this week and our theme is slightly different—bugs!

  4. Thank you for this great idea. How did you get the fairies to stand up on their own without them falling or tipping over in the jar? Thank you.
