Fun Duct Tape Flowers + Last Chance for a PW Giveaway
I love how this flower looks– made from a handful of supplies– mainly duct tape.
My friend Laura aka The Duct Tape Diva took me through the process– fun and easy! All you need is:
- fishing line
- a needle
- duct tape (there are so many great colors/patterns out there)
- scissors
- a knife
- a button or something cute for the center
- a glue gun
- if you're making a pin, you'll need a pin and a little piece of felt
Because this can be a sticky project (HA!), a granite countertop is a perfect work table.
Cut a piece of fishing line to 25" (you'll be threading it) and the duct tape to 18." The colored side of the duct tape should be facing down.
Fold the duct tape up
If you get bubbles, you can pop them with the embroidery needle.
Snip off the ends of your folded tape and thread your needle with the fishing line.
Sew in and out close to the edge, making 4-5 stitches as you pull your thread through. This creates folds.
It should be looking something like this. Keep going until you've sewn through the whole tape.
Twist around, forming a flower then flip it over to the back and secure with stitches from the outside going towards the middle.
There's the flower. Find a fun button and sew it in the middle.
Give the flower extra durability with a dollop of glue in the middle of the back. Then add some felt and a pin and you are good to go.
