Hanukkah Crafts

Hi Friends! Well we are less than two weeks away(!) from Hanukkah. It is such a lovely holiday, full of light and miracles. In case you don’t know the story, or why there Jews light candles for eight nights… it’s all to celebrate a miraculous event. Thousands of years ago, the Jews were fighting a in a battle and their resources were wearing thin.

There was only enough oil left to light the menorah (candelabra) for one night– but it lasted for eight nights and against the odds, the Jews prevailed. And that’s why they light the candles for eight nights (the ninth candle, the shamash is the lighter candle).

In our home we celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas… so here are a few of the Hanukkah projects I have made over the years.

We celebrate both at our house, too! I love that you’re posting Hanukkah stuff. Honestly, I’m still in Thanksgiving mode, but that has to change since Hanukkah is so early! I’ve bought some supplies for a Hanukkah “advent” calendar. We’ll see how it goes.

I super love the Chanukah tree, and that dipped matzah looks so yummy! I can’t believe it’s almost here, either, and so early falling on thanksgiving, too!
