Family Fun with the Kids’ Choice Awards
A few weeks ago, I shared with you how I went to Walmart and scored Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters so I could throw a super fun watch party for my family and I as we enjoyed THE event of the awards season, The Kids’ Choice Awards on Nickelodeon! I grabbed a pack of 30 Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters at Walmart in the juice aisle, although there was a special display at Walmart that went up shortly after my visit. Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters was the Official Drink of the Kids’ Choice Awards.
My kids are big Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters fans and so am I. Here’s why:
– No Artificial Colors or Flavors
– Just 30 calories
– Lightly fruit-flavored water beverage
– It tastes great!
With Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters being the official drink sponsor of the Kids’ Choice Awards, I thought it would be the perfect time to have a family party and watch the show.
I built our gathering around Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters as the centerpiece, making sure the food I served was a perfect pairing and a sense of FUN just like the awards show. You know what goes great with Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters (as well as being a kid favorite)?
That’s right… Macaroni and Cheese with a twist! Served with Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters of course.
Ingredients: 1 Family Size Box of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, 10 Oscar Meyer Beef Franks, 4 slices of Kraft Singles. I also used small fondant letter cutters and small glass trifle dishes. This recipe makes 4-6 servings (with mac left over!)
Step 1: Following package instructions, make the macaroni.
Step 2: Slice the hot dogs in half lengthwise and cook them on the stove in a saucepan.
Step 3: Dish the mac in a pretty glass trifle dish.
Step 4: Cut the hot dogs to fit inside the glass.
Step 5: Cut the letters “NICK” (short for Nickelodeon) out of a slice of cheese.
Step 6: Place the letters on the hot dogs. Now you’ve got a GLAM Hot Dog Dinner, perfect for watching the Kids’ Choice Awards.
My family oohed and aahed over it! To jazz up the decor, I created printable stars and voting sheets.

Here’s how I set it all up…
What a fun watch party! We had a great time watching the Kids’ Choice Awards this year. My kids love Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters and I think next year we’ll try your recipe – what a fun twist on Mac n’ Cheese! #client

Love the idea of cutting letters out of the cheese to spell out Nick!
Super cute ideas! Will be using some of them tonight!
