How to Create a Letter Writing Kit for Kids
There’s nothing as personal as someone’s handwriting. With all the keyboards that kids have access to these days, they can sometimes forget how cool handwriting can be! BIC® wants to save handwriting and you can help too. My daughter and I love sending and receiving written letters. I’ll be sharing how to create a letter writing kit for kids later in this port.
But first– we must save handwriting! Simply visit BICFightForYourWrite.com and sign this pledge to support the cause.
You can even let your friends know about it though social media– and they can sign too! And in case you needed any extra incentive, there’s a $1,200 BIC® Prize Pack folks can win to help them write more at home. There’s no purchase necessary, U.S. only, 18+. It ends on 9/14/15. For more details and rules go to BICFightForYourWrite.com.
Handwriting is so important for kids.
The act of writing encourages creativity and helps kids become critical thinkers. It also boosts self-confidence. Plus writing helps reading skills. There are so many wonderful benefits to writing!
One fun way to get the kiddos excited about writing is to create a letter writing kit– with everything kids need to write and mail a letter in one convenient place.
In our family, we like to send cards and letters to our friends and loved ones who live in different states, like our cousins in California. My nine year old loves keeping in touch with her cousin Danielle using old fashioned snail mail. It’s so fun to open the mailbox and find a letter (not a bill or junk mail) waiting for you! Here are some ideas about what to include in a letter writing kit.

What a fantastic idea! I am always struggling to find ways to get my 7 yr old son excited about actually writing by hand instead of using his tablet!
