Simple Shamrock Pennant Card

Hi There– super simple card idea here. I wanted to make one of these for my parish priest, Father Pat. He went in for emergency hip replacement a few months ago– and ended up getting a horrible antibiotic resistant MRSA infection– and has been in a wheelchair and in rehab ever since. He is such a wonderful man. It pains me to think of him not feeling well. This idea is a knock off of the cute pennant cards everyone's been making.

Shamcard1

Supplies: 3 sheets of green patterned paper, Martha Stewart shamrock punch, green twine from The Twinery, cheap Shamrock cards from the $1 bin at JoAnn's, a ruler and glue.

Shamcard2

Flip your paper over and make a mark every 2 inches.

Shamcard3

Fold the paper at the first 2 inch mark.

Shamcard4

Punch out shamrocks, leaving enough room at the fold…

Shamcard5

To leave the 2 shamrocks attached. Continue folding paper at 2 inches and punching out shapes on the other two sheets of paper too.

Shamcard6

Measure out 18 inched of twine.

Shamcard7

Center 7 (you knew it would have to be "lucky 7") shamrocks

Shamcard8

Glue them to the twine using less glue than I did here.

Shamcard9

Let 'em dry

Shamcard10

Here's a little Irish poem I found

Shamcard11

I think the shamrock pennants look cute

Shamcard13

I hope this brings a little smile to Father Pat.

Shamcard14
Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! Linking up here. I wish I could send you each a shamrock shake but I'll have to leave you with this instead: Big Hug,

 Malia

I love this card idea! Those shamrocks are adorable! And so sorry to hear about your priest…I am hearing more and more cases of people getting MRSA after going into the hospital for something else. Praying for him!
