Neon Anchor Tank Top (Bargain Knockoff)

I love a good bargain and this Neon Anchor Tank Top fits the bill.  I recently saw a really cute version in a magazine… there was just a little problem. Actually sixty-six problems.DIY Anchor Tank Top

Here’s the “real” version for $66. It’s cute and I like the homemade look, but $66?

That seems a bit steep. So I found this hot pink tank top at the craft store. It was around $8 but it was 50% off so with tax it was still under $5. And I happened to have a bleach pen at home. With two kids and a dog (and ok, I am super prone to stains myself) I always have one handy. Here is the super simple tutorial:

Supplies: A neon tank top and a Bleach Pen (you probably already have one) and a large piece of cardboard.

Step 1: Place cardboard inside the tank.

Step 2: Draw an anchor with the bleach pen.

Step 3: Let the bleach sit overnight, until it dries out and flakes off.

That’s all there is to it. I think five dollars is so much better than sixty-six!
