Summer Bright Candle Holders

Yay for the sun and enjoying the outdoors, these Summer Bright Candle Holders are a great addition to any space. Summer is such a beautiful season for color. I love strong colors all the time, but in summer, I especially like cheery brights.

DIY Terra Cotta Candle Holders

Here’s a project that I originally saw at my favorite store, Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames in Redmond, WA. As soon as I saw it, I got that “I MUST make these” feeling. So I did!

DIY Terra Cotta Candle Holders

Supplies: Three Terra Cotta pots and saucers, DuraClear Gloss varnish, Delta Creamacoat Paint in Orange Crush, DecoArt Americana acrylic paint in Primary Yellow, Calypson Blue, and Yellow Green, baker’s twine in coordinating colors and three candles.

DIY Terra Cotta Candle Holders

Step 1: Paint the pots and saucers… aren’t these colors sort of delicious?

Step 2: Paint the sealer on. OOPS Alert: After painting sealer on all the pieces I realized I missed some spots. They were pretty obvious and I was bummed(!) but I just applied the sealer to those places and let it dry… it looked fine!

The sealer adds a great glossy sheen!

Step 3: Tie the baker’s twine around the candle.

These cheery candle holders make me smile.

Happy Summer!
