All week long, my kids are going in different directions. With two separate schools, sports, choir and tutoring, we hardly have enough time to connect. That’s what I wanted to plan a family movie night featuring Big Hero 6, a warm and wonderful Disney movie that was recently on DVD.
First I headed to my local Target (love that store) to pick up a copy of the movie.
I didn’t have to go very far until I saw a nice big Big Hero 6 movie display right in the front of the store, between the jewelry and girl’s clothing departments.
I grabbed a movie and some food and then headed home to create a family friendly and FUN Big Hero 6 Movie Night. I had a blast brainstorming some cool ways to incorporate the characters in the movie.
In case you haven’t seen the movie yet (and I won’t give anything away), the store is about a boy named Hiro, Baymax (a robot) and their friends who get some amazing powers. Together they set out to right a wrong. I thought it would be neat to whip up a few snacks inspired by Hiro’s pals.
Hiro’s buddy Wasabi would never let him down… and neither will this tasty snack mix.
Fred is one of the funniest characters and he’s also quite colorful… much like this fruit salad.
Honey Lemon is sweet (she was my daughter’s fave) so of course she would have cupcakes named after her.
Finally, Go Go is strong but she’s also kind– two great qualities that combined, make a great person. It’s sort of like popcorn and candy melts. They combine to make a great treat!
Baymax Project
The heart of the movie is a robot named Baymax. He’s a wonderful friend to Hiro, the main character. Your kids can create their own Baymax in just minutes!
Step 1: Download and save this Baymax Printable, then and print it.
{Grab some scissors, paper fasteners, a hole punch and tape}
Step 2: Cut out the parts out.
Step 3: Use a hole punch and then use a fastener to attach the pieces.
Step 4: Use tape to add the head on.
TA DA… Baymax!
That’s my family movie night featuring Big Hero 6. How does your family like spending quality time together?
Mmm, that snack mix sounds delish and the printable is so cute. Thanks for sharing!
That build a Baymax printable is awesome, my son would love it!

What a fun way to extend the movie night into a family activity! Those snacks look really delicious, too. I’m thinking a movie night like this needs to happen in our house this weekend! #client
