Mason Jar Picnic
Mason Jar Picnic with Printable Labels
One of the best parts of summer is that you can spend more time outside. Pack a picnic is some Mason Jars and you’ll have a fun little meal or snack that the whole family will enjoy!
This is part of the week long Summer in Jars Event that I’m participating in along with some of my favorite bloggers.
Supplies: Wooden Caddy (mine is from Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames in Redmond), 6 Mason Jars, acrylic paint (I used DecoArt Paint in Primary Yellow), free printable labels (provided), painter’s tape, double sided tape, small picnic food (World Market has a great selection). Also useful: a 2″ Circle Punch.
Step 1: Tape off handles and bottom of the caddy to prevent paint getting on them.
Step 2: Mix paint with water to desired consistency.
Step 3: Paint a section of the box, then quickly use a rag to wipe the paint off. This will leave more of a “stain” look as opposed to a painted look.
Step 4: Fill up the jars with food.
Step 5: Download and print Mason Jar Picnic Invites and Mason Jar Picnic Lid Labels. Cut out the invitations and use a 2″ circle punch (or cut out) jar labels. By the way, I want to give a big shout out to Angie from Angie Makes for the free Mason Jar Image.
Step 6: Use double sided tape to attach the labels.
Step 7: Have fun!
Whether you’re heading to the beach, taking a hike or a stroll or doing some summer stargazing, this Mason Jar Picnic will make your meal even more special.
