Painted Music Station
{Scroll down for an AWESOME CONTEST with MAJOR Cash Prizes!}
My daughter loves music, she’s literally always singing. So I wanted to make her a special place to store her CD’s and boom box.
Supplies: Wood stand with baskets, American
Decor Chalky Finish Paint in Everlasting and Delicate as well as the Creme Wax. I also grabbed some painters tape and cardboard stars.
Here’s the piece I started with. It was on major markdown… in fact it was on clearance! I knew I wanted something that had baskets so we could store as much stuff as possible inside of them.
Here’s how it looks transformed into a fun and functional music station. This was a really easy project and my daughter was thrilled! Here’s how I did it.
Steps
1. Remove the baskets and paint the furniture America Decor Chalky Finish Everlasting.
2. Make stripes with painter’s tape.
3. Paint the stripes America Decor Chalky Finish Everlasting.
4. Use a rag to apply America Decor Creme Wax.
5. Paint the cardboard stars and add numbers.
6. Replace the baskets.
Now this piece is light and fun… not to mention very functional!

Love this upcycle. The stripes yellow stripes are a perfect detail. Baskets are the best for organizing and hiding a little of the mess.
