Easter Crafts

 With Easter less than a week away, it’s the perfect time for kids to create Easter Crafts. Here are some simple and colorful projects that kids can make (with some adult help of course).

Spring Crayon Art

 Supplies:  8 x 10 inch canvas, crayons, a white vinyl egg and yellow chick (these were made in the Die Cut Center at Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames in Redmond, if you purchase the products there you can use the die cut machine for free). You’ll also need pipe cleaners, a googly eye, hot glue, regular glue and a hair dryer. All craft supplies available at Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames in Redmond.

Directions: 

Prep your work area with plenty of newspaper to catch any drips.

1. Choose the crayon colors you want to use and have an adult help to hot glue them to the canvas.

2. Using a hairdryer aimed at the middle of the crayon, melt the crayons. Let it set.

3. Cut colorful pipe cleaners to decorate egg and glue them on.

4. Glue googly eye on chick.

5. Add vinyl egg to canvas and glue chick to canvas.

Bunny Granola

Supplies for Jars: Mason Jars, spring fabric, self-adhesive googly ete, a pink pom poms for the nose, white rik rac for whiskers, white 8 1/2 x 11 inch scrapbook paper and glue dots. All craft supplies available at Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames in Redmond.

Directions:

1. On the wrong side of the fabric, trace a bowl and cut out (we used pinking shears, but any sharp scissors will be good). Place fabric on top of lid.

2. Add adhesive eyes, and use glue dots to add nose and whiskers.

3. Print and cut out these free Mason Jar Bunny Ears and attach to lid with glue dots.

4. Fill with candy or granola. You can find the Bunny Granola Recipe here.

5. Put fabric lid on and enjoy.

Easter Egg Garland

 Supplies: Large felt Easter Eggs, various colors of ric rak, jute, glue and a hole punch. All craft supplies available at Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames in Redmond.

Directions:

1. Kids can cut pieces of rik rak to decorate the eggs and glue them down.

2. Punch a hole in either side of each egg.

3. String jute through holes and hang.

Giant Easter Bunny

 Supplies: Giant pom pom, two sheets of white foam and one sheet of pink foam, large googly eyes, glue and FREE  bunny template. All craft supplies available at Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames in Redmond.

 Directions:
1. Trace and cut out bunny parts from white and pink foam.
 
2. Glue eyes, nose and ears to bunny head.
 
3. Glue head, arms and legs on pom pom.
 

  Easter Bunny Family

 Supplies: Three styrofoam cone shapes in different sizes, acrylic paint, googly eyes, felt, pipe cleaners and glue. All craft supplies available at Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames in Redmond.

 Directions:

1. Kids paint cones and let them dry. It make take 2-3 coats.

2. Cut two pieces of felt freehand for each each. Glue sides together except for the bottom. Cut smaller piece of felt for inside of ear and glue. 

3. Cut a pipe cleaner to fit inside ear and poke in top of styrofoam. Make six ears total.

4. Cut three small triangles for bunny noses.

5. Glue on eyes and noses.

6. Cut pipe cleaner whiskers and poke in styrofoam. 

Chalkboard Eggs

 Supplies: Paper Mache Eggs, Chalkboard Paint (we used Americana) and chalk.

Directions:

1. Kids paint eggs with chalkboard paint (it may take 2 coats) and let them dry.

2. Kids decorate eggs with chalk.

Easter Egg Critters

Supplies: Large Paper Mache eggs, acrylic paint in white, yellow and pink. Felt in black, yellow, orange and pink. Googly eyes,  two yellow feathers and one white pipe cleaner. All craft supplies available at Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames in Redmond.

 1. Kids paint the eggs.

2. Cut a heart shape out of felt to make the feet. Using the photo as a guide, cut the ears/face/beak out of felt also. Glue felt pieces on egg. 

3. Glue eyes on eggs.

4. For bunny, add pom poms and whiskers.

Bunny Place Cards

Supplies: Bunnies (these were made in the Die Cut Center at Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames in Redmond, if you purchase the products there you can use the die cut machine for free). You’ll also need thin ribbon. googly eyes, glue letter stickers and craft sticks. All craft supplies available at Ben Franklin Crafts and Frames in Redmond.

Directions:

1. Kids can add ribbon and google eyes to bunnies.

2. Use letter stickers to spell out names.

3. Glue the craft stick to the bunnies.

4. Place in glass of jelly beans.
